The Weary Traveler

falling asleep to white noise
of the t.v. playing upstairs
cars splashing the remnants
of the weeping clouds outside

whispers of a forgotten name
echo through my thoughts
those whispers have traveled far, you know
so let them rest a while

entertain that voice
he is a weary traveler,
never stopping, always running
going with the flow

just sit and relax
and take a look around
he's gone pretty far,
from there to here

from that corner in your mind
to that step you took today
he's been around for quite a while
maybe you just didn't notice

he came from barney
from playskool and brite-lite
and stopped, just for you
and became another memory
